Hello Monina,

Firstly, thank you for sharing this touching story. When I read it for the first time, my immediate thought was "poetic". Also, something about the photo affected me in a way. I look at it and it reminds me of some poignant scenes in movies about people who missed each other longingly.

That aside, when I took my nephew and niece to Fort Santiago for the first time in 2000, they, too, followed the same metal foot-shaped markers tracing Rizal's march to his death. I walked alongside them quietly. Hopefully they understood the meaning of it all.

I am glad you introduced Sakiko to Jose Rizal.
